Today I spent the afternoon at the hospital with Annie for her annual testing. We have an appointment each year where we get to meet with nearly all of her specialists at once, so in preparation for that, we have all her routine testing done on one day in advance.
So today Annie had her Dexa bone scan to monitor her osteoporosis. Then she had her renal sonogram to monitor kidney function and the cyst in one of her kidneys. After that, she had her spinal x-rays to monitor her scolosis. And we then finished things up with her CMG bladder test to monitor the function of her neurogenic bladder and pelvic floor muscles.
It was quite the day, but we're grateful we could do all this testing in just one trip. Annie was a trooper and did great! We'll find out all the results of these tests at her appointment on August 7th when we meet with nearly all of her specialists. Although we did learn one result early... they discovered Annie has a UTI from the routine UA they do with the CMG. We were rather surprised since she displayed absolutely no symptoms, but that's a quick and easy fix with antibiotics. The most anxiously awaited test result will be her scoliosis x-ray, to see what degree of curvature she measures at now. We suspect that a spinal fusion is in her near future. We'll report more after August 7th!
