Wisconsin Dells

My family gathered last week in Wisconsin Dells for our Oldroyd reunion.  We had a fully packed schedule of activities and had a blast there.  Of course, having our house on the route some of my family took to get to Wisconsin, they naturally stayed at the Tolman Bed and Breakfast, and we had a fun time showing family some sites here in Omaha has well.

When my sister's family arrived in Omaha, our first stop was the zoo.

Then we headed to Wisconsin Dells and met up with everyone else!

All 25 of us!
All 15 grandkids, in order of age!

One morning we took a boat tour of the Upper Dells.  It was a nice boat ride, with two scenic stops.

One night we saw The Tommy Bartlett Ski Show which was rather impressive:

We spent one day at Circus World, seeing a magic show, circus acts and stunts, and learning about circus history.

This was the most terrifying act to watch, especially when he was jumping rope up there and walking blindfolded!

Another day we went to Devil's Lake State Park to hike and swim in the lake.

We also spent one full day of our trip at Noah's Ark water park--the world's largest water park.  I don't have any pictures since being in the water all day made carrying a camera around rather difficult.  But it was a blast, except for the fact that the temperature was in the mid-70s and cloudy and the water on all the rides and pools felt like it was straight from the mountain glaciers! I'm not sure why the water park capital of the world is in Wisconsin.  I think it should be in Texas!  We shivered all day long, but we had a blast, especially on the roller coaster water slide and watching some brave family members go on a waterslide with a vertical drop and complete upside-down loop!

The last night of our trip we enjoyed a campfire and s'mores at our rental house.

My parents and sister's family followed us back to Omaha and we took them to the Mormon Trail Center and Winter Quarters.

  1. When I read your blog, Ivan pointed and said, "Is that Annie?" Then Caleb saw her in another picture and pointed saying, "It's Annie, it's Annie." They got excited every time they saw a picture of her. They didn't point out anyone else. She must have made quite an impression on them.
