A Unique Birthday for Molly

Molly and Lexie begged to come up to the hospital tonight to visit Annie.  Lexie was even crying in the car that she misses Annie.  I explained that we were going to go see her, but Lexie kept crying because she is going to miss Annie at home tonight too.  And Molly even asked to spend her birthday tonight with Annie at the hospital.  What sweet girls.  I'm so touched by the genuine love they have for their sister.

We had the most delicious cinnamon rolls EVER for our dinner at the hospital that my awesome friend made for us.  Then Molly and Lexie headed to the lobby for a party--the hospital has one every week or so to give kids something fun to look forward to.  Lexie and Molly had a fun time doing some crafts and getting some treats and toys to take home.  A child life specialist even got Molly a birthday balloon from the gift shop!  For Molly, spending time next to Annie, watching cable TV cartoons we don't get at home, and having cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for dinner makes a perfect birthday!

Annie has gotten a small amount of rest this evening, but managing her pain has been more difficult than we had imagined it would be, especially considering that she still has the epidural in place.  She's getting occasional epidural boluses that help, as well as some Lortab, but we'll probably be adding some IV pain meds here soon too to help make sure she has a comfortable night.  We really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for Annie.  Thank you!
