Excellence in Teaching

Last month we were excited to hear the news that Justin had won the Rho Chi Excellence in Teaching Award at Creighton University.  Rho Chi is the Pharmacy honors society, and those honors students voted Justin as the best teacher of the year.  He was given his award at a nice ceremony and the president of Rho Chi gave a wonderful tribute to Justin.  He mentioned lots of inside jokes that Justin has with his students and other fun or silly things Justin has done to try to make his difficult class a bit more enjoyable.

I was so proud listening to how much the students love Justin and to get the chance to see Justin through his students' eyes.  I love that he loves his job so much and that the students love him too.  I think a professor's true mark of success is having students who recognize that professor's positive impact on them.  In hearing the tribute, I better understood the meaningful connection that Justin has worked to create with his students.  Way to go, Tolmanator!
