"How to Help Annie" by Lexie Tolman

Lexie is in Kindergarten this year, and as one of their writing activities, they often make "instruction books" where they have to explain or teach a process.  It's always fun to see what Lexie comes up with, but this one she brought home from school several weeks ago was my favorite.  She made this at school before we ever knew that Annie had developed a serious infection in her back.

I absolutely love that Lexie thinks of her big sister and loves her so much.  I'm grateful that Annie is my oldest and that having her as a special big sister will always be completely normal to Molly and Lexie.  They are so kind and thoughtful towards Annie and it is so heartwarming to watch.  And now, here's Lexie to train you on how to help Annie when she's sad...  (How many more years until Molly and Lexie could babysit Annie for us?!)

First you get her some toys and put them on her tray.

Next, if she did not calm down, then tip her back and turn on the TV.

Then if that didn't work, then put her in bed and she will calm down.

Last, she is all calm and you will be tired and worn out!
